About Us

Solihull Young Musicians’ Support Association (SYMSA) is an organisation run by volunteers to support and promote musical activities for the young people of Solihull borough. We have been supporting local young musicians for 30 years, we are a registered charity and have close links with Solihull Music.

SYMSA has helped to support Solihull Music concerts held at Abbey Road Studios and The Cavern Club. These unique performance opportunities will be remembered by students for years to come.

SYMSA has funded new instruments, sheet music and musical equipment. We have recently purchased folding chairs and a trolley for pupils to use at The Core – one of Solihull Music’s new practice venues. We are also planning on funding sturdy music stands to be used in the practice rooms at The Core.

During lockdown SYMSA funded 4 online workshops to enable youngsters to connect with other musicians and make music at a time when lessons and group practice sessions were not able to take place.

SYMSA are supporting new students on their musical journey by paying for free ensemble places for this term to allow them to experience the satisfaction and fun of playing together in a group.
